Congratulations! ISA students receive first prize in AMOPA French Poetry Competition

The Upper School is delighted to celebrate the success of two of our students who won the First Prize in a competition organised by AMOPA (Association des Membres de l’Ordre des Palmes Académiques) in March 2021 called ‘Plaisir d’écrire’.

This French organisation holds a yearly national competition that is also open to international schools teaching French mother-tongue programmes abroad with the aim to promote creative writing in the language.

All students studying French Language and Literature produced some poetry based on their units from last year and two received the outstanding first prize in their given categories:

Alice Dufournier in Grade 7 for writing La Chaleur arrive, a poem based on the positive engagement needed to defend biodiversity on our planet.

Ambre Gauriau in Grade 10 for writing L’inégalité raciale, a poem based on the need to promote human rights.

Congratulations to both of them on their excellent achievements!
