Admissions Process

Applying to ISA

Applications must be submitted online through the Admissions Portal. To begin the application process, please complete the pre-application form. Families who have already completed an online inquiry may access the Admission Portal here.

The teacher recommendation forms for Lower School and Upper School must be completed by the student’s current or previous school, these forms are required for students applying to Pre-School through Grade 12. This process may be initiated by entering the teacher’s e-mail in the designated section of the admissions portal. The teacher will then be e-mailed a link to the recommendation form. School records for the last two years are required for all applicants applying to Kindergarten through Grade 12. The school recommendation form must be sent directly to the Admissions Office by the applicant’s current or previous school. School records may be uploaded to the admissions portal.

Applicants for the start of the upcoming school year are strongly advised to submit the application by 15 January and all supporting documentation before 1 February. Please note that submissions received after 1 February may result in a delay of the admissions decision and subsequently a delay in the applicant’s start date. Applications received after the 15 January application deadline will be considered on a rolling basis. Please note that supporting documentation for rolling applications must be submitted prior to 1 May for applicants wishing to start at the beginning of the new academic year. Supporting documentation received after this date may result in a later starting date.

Please visit the Apply to ISA section for complete admissions checklist packets.

Review Process & Admissions Decision

Once an applicant’s file is complete, the file will undergo a detailed review by key faculty and staff, including the Admissions Office and the Head of Lower or Upper School. Upon completion of the review process, families will receive notification of the admissions decision and information regarding availability through the admissions portal.

The school reserves the right to refuse admission to a student for reasons considered relevant by the school.

Intake Interviews

All admitted students must have an intake interview with a member of the administrative team prior to their first day at ISA. Students may not begin classes until this appointment has taken place. Language placement interviews may be conducted for students in Kindergarten through Grade 5, and all non-mother tongue English speakers in Grades 6 through 12. Additional assessments may be conducted at this time.
