Meet Lucy Killeen, our Lower School Learning Support Coordinator who is retiring after 27 years at ISA.

How did your time at ISA impact your life?

ISA had an amazing impact on my life, allowing me to mix with nationalities from all over the world, learn about different cultures and progress in my professional life! ISA has been such a positive influence on my life. In some ways, ISA was a lifeline for me when I moved to the Netherlands from Ireland. My most memorable experience was just having met and spent time with my wonderful colleagues and students.

What is your current career, and why did you choose that path? What advice do you have for others looking to enter into your field of work?

The advice I would give to people interested in joining this field is to put the child at the centre of everything you do and look at the whole child all of the strengths and areas for growth.  I chose this path because I developed such admiration for the kids I worked with, and their tenacity and persistence when dealing with barriers to learning. 

What advice or insights do you have for our current ISA students?

Embrace all the amazing opportunities ISA offers you. Carry your understanding and knowledge out into the world to build a better future and make it a better place.
