Over the summer break, our Facilities team and contractors have been busy preparing the ISA campus for the new school year. From improving sports facilities and learning environments to maintaining our buildings and grounds, these projects help create a safe, functional and welcoming campus where students can learn, move, explore and thrive.
This summer’s upgrades include:
- Completion of Phase 2 of the Lower School Gym renovation, providing improved facilities for Primary PE
- Renewal of the Upper School Gym roof, including essential repairs to protect the building and extend its lifespan
- Brickwork restoration to maintain the structural integrity of campus buildings
- New landscaping and campus signage to improve the appearance and navigation of the campus
- Indoor painting in selected areas to refresh learning and working environments
- Ongoing LED lighting upgrades to improve energy efficiency and lighting quality
- Carpet replacement in selected areas to improve comfort and appearance
- Moving and relocation work to better support educational programmes and operational needs
One of the most exciting projects for our younger students is the ongoing renovation of the Lower School Gym. Now in its second year of a three-year project, the renovation is transforming the space into a modern, multi-purpose environment designed to support a wide range of movement experiences.
Primary PE teacher Lex explains: “The goal was to upgrade the Primary PE gym to a modern, state-of-the-art facility that supports us to ignite each student’s passion for movement.”
This summer, new ceiling units and a cube wall were installed. The ceiling units allow students to use rings and ropes for climbing and swinging, while also connecting with the existing frames to create different climbing and free-running setups. The cube wall can accommodate pull-up bars, push-up bars, slides, climbing holds and hanging equipment, giving students opportunities to develop their strength, balance, coordination and confidence through a variety of movement experiences.
The gym renovation will continue next summer, when floor-embedded equipment will bring the different elements together and unlock the full potential of the space.
These improvements are part of ISA’s ongoing commitment to creating a campus that supports student learning in all its forms. By investing in spaces that encourage curiosity and active learning, we give students the opportunity to explore their interests, build new skills and make the most of their learning environment, helping them thrive at school.
A big thank you to our Facilities team, contractors and the wider ISA community for their patience and flexibility while this work was carried out over the summer.
