Welcome to the Official Website of the 2011 NECIS Soccer/Volleyball Tournament
It is my privilege to welcome you to the campus of the International School of Amsterdam and to the 2011 NECIS Soccer and Volleyball Tournament.
This year’s tournament is the result of a great deal of planning by the Athletic Directors of all the NECIS schools but especially by ISA’s Athletic Director Marianne de Haan. I know you will join me in thanking her and all of the Athletic Directors, school representatives and our sponsors who have done so much to make this year’s tournament possible.
The NECIS tournaments were created many years ago to offer our students an opportunity to become part of a team and to learn the value of working together to reach the very highest level of performance possible. And, because of the international nature of our participating schools, with so many student athletes from around the world, each NECIS athlete has an incredibly exciting opportunity to make new friends and to extend his or personal horizon—no matter what the final score of any game may be.
The International School of Amsterdam welcomes all of you to this special weekend of competition. We welcome student athletes and their friends and families; we welcome the athletic directors, coaches, school administrators, and the students of the NECIS schools who have travelled to watch this year’s tournament. I wish you a fantastic tournament filled with exciting competition and the good sportsmanship that has long been a NECIS hallmark. And, of course, we wish you a memorable stay in our interesting city. Please do let us know if there is anything we can do to help make your time with us more enjoyable and comfortable.
