As
a member of the Amsterdam Promotion Foundation,
ISA was invited to take part in a trade mission
to Austin and Houston, aimed at attracting
new businesses to the Amsterdam region.
Mr.
Job Cohen, Mayor of Amsterdam, led the delegation
consisting of councilors and representatives
from the local business community. During a
series of seminars and meetings the Dutch delegation
met their US counterparts.
The
reasons for ISA’s participation were
threefold. The trip was a valuable opportunity
for ISA to further establish the school in
the Amsterdam Region business
community. Secondly, ISA was able to meet up with development
colleagues at Awty, the International School of Houston and
the British School of Houston to establish contacts and share
experiences. Finally, ISA was able to (re-)establish contacts
between Texan alumni and ISA.

A
small (we do not have that many alumni in Texas)
but select company met at the residence of the
former Chairman of the ISA Board, Rodney Proto.
After the usual greetings and new acquaintances,
a specially prepared power point presentation
on the latest developments at ISA was shown.
It was met with great delight, as most of the
viewers only knew the school from photos.
KLM
Royal Dutch Airlines provided us with their
latest video on the Netherlands and our alumni
shared many memories after seeing the famous
sights of Holland.
Of course the yearbooks were consulted and the Texan alumni
decided to carry on organizing regular meetings. Exactly
what we had hoped for.
The
Proto family supplied us with a copious meal
that ended this successful gathering.
